About us

As a non-profit organization (french act 1901), La Guilde Internationale des Fromagers aims to gather the dairy network at any possible level and worldwide.

The Guild is combined with La Confrérie de St. Uguzon organization, which purpose is to transmit knowledge through cheese companionship. Created in 1969, the Guild counted 8,700 members in 2023 all around the world.

La Guilde Internationale des Fromagers welcomes professional cheesemakers, and dairy growers, processors, refiners, traders and retailers.

La Confrérie de St. Uguzon is reserved to amateurs and gastronomes, chefs and restaurants owners, caterers, food scientists, journalists and food critics and generally to cheese aficionados and dairy products lovers.

The Guild had 6181 members in January 10, 2015 after the 479th Induction Chapter held in « Marin French Cheese » creamery in honor of the 150th anniversary of its creation.

The organisation is present in Switzerland, in France, all over Europe and internationally in 33 countries.

So as to spread its message and philosophy over the years, it has created clubs and embassies; notably under the banner of the « New World Club » in 12 European countries, in the US, Canada, Mexico and Australia.  Also in South America, Russia, Japan and Czechoslovakia. There are about 15 induction chapters organised per year.

What do we do?

Responsible for promoting women and men working dairy products worldwide, the Guild also helps to maintain the know-how, symbol of respect for traditions in a modern world.

La Guilde Internationale des Fromagers participates in many events involving dairy professionals and enthousiasts, and often organizes Induction Chapters for its new members.

La Guilde des Fromagers
